Your Reactions to the Thunderbirds 4K Restoration Double-Bill Experience - The Gerry Anderson Store

Calling all International Rescue agents! We at Anderson Entertainment recently tasked our UK-based operatives with a most special assignment - to attend the screenings of our spectacular Thunderbirds 4K restoration double-bill of Trapped in the Sky and Terror in New York City.

Following the initial screenings last month, we asked you to compile your field reports and dispatch them to Anderson Entertainment HQ. Compiled here are nearly 200 reports of your fantastic experiences in seeing Thunderbirds blast off back to the big screen for its 60th anniversary!

"I went to the double bill with my father who watched the show in the sixties and introduced it to me as a kid. It was emotional seeing it on the big screen and seeing the Fireflash landing rescue was out of this world. A true once in a lifetime experience." Olly Jones, Odeon, Llanelli

"A family affair, wife, daughter and son. To get cinema level '5, 4, 3, 2, 1' raised the hair on the back of my necks. Seeing the detail in the models was something never experienced in good old 625 line PAL." Walter Hegarty, Movies@ Dundrum.

"60 years ago, 7 year old little me sat down with my parents in front of our 24-inch black & white TV and watched the first episode of a new Sunday evening children's TV programme called Thunderbirds. It was about a nuclear powered airliner with a bomb on board, trying to land at London Airport. I had never seen anything quite so exciting on TV before, and I was captivated!

That episode, now better known under the title of Trapped in the Sky, along with Terror in New York City, was a brilliant way to commemorate not only the 60th anniversary of the first broadcast of Thunderbirds, but also to promote the new Blu-ray release of the entire series. Seeing these innovative works of art again, in colour, on the big screen, in the highest definition possible from the original 35mm films, was thrilling.

I took my 18 year-old son and I wore my best Thunderbirds t-shirt!" Nigel Sadler, Odeon, Turnbridge Wells

"I went with my mum and we had a FAB time!! I loved watching the episodes on the big screen." Tom Robert Clements, Omniplex, Ipswich

"My dad grew up in the sixties and watched Thunderbirds as it first aired, he showed it to me when I was a kid and we loved watching it together. So to get to see Thunderbirds together on the big screen was a really special experience for us to share. We both absolutely loved it!" Jake Wilson, FACT, Liverpool

"I wore my TB t-shirt, too early for any further cosplay. On my own as my daughter had last minute work commitments. Remembered how amazing these programs were from a pre CGI or AI world, to combine such high quality design, music and special effects. There was still a sense of magic about it all." Ian New, The Light, Huddersfield

"When my sister and I were 12 years old, Thunderbirds was repeated on BBC. We were hooked from the start and eagerly awaited Fridays, not just for the weekend, but for the next thrilling instalment. Although twins, we had our hearts set on different Tracy brothers (I, Scott and she, Virgil) so every episode we'd each hope our favourite would have a central role!

34 years later, we're sat together again, watching two Thunderbirds episodes on the big screen: the iconic first episode, Trapped in the Sky and one of my sister's absolute favourite episodes, Terror in New York City. No distractions. No interruptions. Just magic! Just like watching it on live TV in the early 90s! Thanks so much for the opportunity to take a break from being adults for a couple of hours and to relive a cherished part of our childhood, together. First thing my sister says as we're leaving the cinema: "Are they doing any more?" What could I say except, "I hope so!"" Emma Wilson, Odeon, Middlesbrough

"I went with my Mum and Dad, and I was surprised that most of the audience consisted of kids with their grandparents! In fact, at the end, as I was going to the toilet, I saw one little boy run out of the screening and shouting 'I LOVE THE THUNDERBIRDS!!'" Ellis James Pagon, Odeon, Bath

"I was with my daughter, Kelly. I wore an International Rescue polo top. I watched the double bill, it was great watching in 4K, plus the 5.1 sound it brought back memories of me and my brother watching Thunderbirds at my nans' when I was 9 years old and Finsbury Park is where I was living with my mum and dad. What I loved about the screening was the realism and the action of Thunderbirds. I really had a great day." Anthony and Kelly Dowling, Picturehouse, Finsbury Park

"I don't, unfortunately, have a Thunderbirds t-shirt, so I wore a Space:1999 shirt instead, so at least it was still Gerry Anderson connected. It was a wonderful experience seeing these two episodes on the big screen, but a little sad, as I was the only person in the theatre! I have photos to prove it, too! :) I had booked a seat right at the back, but once the show started and I realised nobody else was joining me, I went and sat down at the front! LOL! Thunderbirds was my favourite show growing up. I used to watch it when we visited my granny in Mill Hill, but it was on ITV, and she hated ITV and would only watch the BBC. But she made an exception for me so I wouldn't miss an episode. I was born in 1965 and feel proud to be the same age as Thunderbirds. FAB!" Niilo Tippler, Broadway, Letchworth

"It was a beautiful crystal clear vibrant print, with terrific sound. I was by myself in my Thunderbirds 50th anniversary t-shirt, but there were families in the audience parents & kids with grandparents. Everyone enjoyed it, it was thrilling, a fab celebration hopefully more to come." Paul Hutchinson, Odeon Belfast

"I went with my wife, thoroughly enjoyed watching the 2 episodes on the big screen and reminded me of growing up in the early 60's. A lot of programs from the 60's and 70's have not age well, but Thunderbirds is as fresh today as it was 60 years ago and who would have thought the technology in those episodes has finally arrived recently in the real world. We had a wonderful time." Brian Buttery, Odeon, Trafford

"I went by myself and I thought it was good way to pay homage to Gerry Anderson's legacy and for the anniversary of the series which was such a fitting tribute." Darryl Harden, The Light, Stockport

"Went in my Thunderbirds t-shirt brought from Anderson Entertainment Store. I loved seeing the episodes on the big screen perfectly remastered in 4K where they belong, Gerry Anderson and Lew Grade would have loved this!! Hearing the amazing Barry Gray theme tune playing through a full cinema system was also a massive highlight and gave me goosebumps. Overall the experience was amazing and made me feel like a child again watching the episodes for the first time. Jamie Anderson and Anderson Entertainment have done so many amazing things for the fans on the 60th anniversary and I can't wait to celebrate the rest of the anniversary year and maybe see more episodes on the big screen in the future?" Benjamin Raymond Carter, Odeon, MetroCentre

"I went by myself I absolutely loved that the double bill was restored in 4K, it brought back fond memories of the show I grew up watching on reruns on Boomerang it still holds up so well 60 years later." Ciaran Damien Bradley, Odeon, Warrington

"Went on my own. Nice to see Thunderbirds on the big screen back to being a kid again, lovely." Denise Willett, Odeon, Milton Keynes

"Went with my cinema buddy Tim! We are both fans and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the double bill on the big screen! Looked fab and added to high stakes tension of both episodes! Loved it! F.A.B!" Frank Sales, Odeon, Norwich

"It was absolutely fantastic for me and my dad to see our childhood on the big screen, even though I've seen the episodes many, many times, my heart was still pounding during the rescues and I was grinning like the Cheshire cat when TB1 and TB2 Launched. Honestly, the best was to sum up our experience was fab." Daniel Wilson, Odeon, Birmingham Broadway

"I went on my own as a treat. Screen 2 was almost full. I was surprised at the age ranges (I'm 63). There were young couples with kids, men (some with their pints of beer!) and ladies in their 20's 30's and people older than me. The vibe was lovely, cosy and happy. People laughed at the humorous bits, and you could hear a pin drop at the exciting bits. It took me back to being a small boy again. To see it on the big screen was wonderful. Very happy!" Robin Measures, Picturehouse, Exeter

"I went on my own, and no, I did not go in cosplay. It was very nice watching the two best episodes on the big screen. I kept shouting out lines before they were said, it was fun." Paul Hyde, Commodore, Ryde (Ilse of Wight)

"I went with my 25-year-old son, a video editor, who was surprised at the quality of the models and the pyrotechnics. I have Thunderbirds t-shirts in the wardrobe, which I do wear, but there was no way I was going to go dressed up, and I didn't see anyone else cosplaying. I grew up with the classic Gerry Anderson series, in particular Thunderbirds. For me, the biggest positive is that while they are high-tech, action-packed and very exciting the main theme in Thunderbirds is always helping people rather than fighting them. I wish that big-budget movies were made on that basis today." Matthew Baxter, The Light, Addlestone

"I watched with a friend. Suspense. Intrigue. Action. Orchestration. STILL futuristic in 2025. All with a happy ending: rescue achieved. Overjoyed to go." Neil Barber, The QUAD, Derby

"I watched the screening on my own. I had a my I.R. t-shirt on. There were only about a dozen people at the event but there were some younger children there, which probably was because of the newer T.V. series. Great memories and I've ordered the 4K boxset so I can replay at my leisure." Andy Cain, Omniplex, Wigan

"Went alone, however, I got chatting to other people that had gone and had a great time. At the end we all clapped and cheered and seeing Thunderbirds at the cinema was like Thunderbirds always belonged there." Antony Currie, Picturehouse, York

"I was accompanied by my three young grandsons whom were seeing Thunderbirds for the first time. I wasn't sure what their reaction would be as like most youngsters they are into all sorts of games on PlayStation and Xbox. They thoroughly enjoyed it. As for me, it took me back to my very early teens, when after seeing the first episode on a very grainy monochrome tv. I instantly became hooked and have never ceased to enjoy watching over and over again. I am now in my seventies, and on my 60th birthday I was presented with a fabulous giant Thunderbird 2 birthday cake, which I very much regretted having to cut up.

Seeing the TV episodes on the big screen was an absolute joy. I still prefer these episodes to the animated series which seem to be rushed in my opinion. To summarise, I would very much look forward to the two Thunderbirds feature films to be reshown on the giant screen." Colin Wilson, FACT, Liverpool

"An opportunity to go back in time to my childhood to enjoy the ideas and excellent production of the time Thunderbirds was created. Funnily enough, the trailers ahead of the screening of Thunderbirds showed how well it stands up against the current crop of Disney animation films and illustrated how superior the production was for the time. Memories... loads !! Trying to recreate TB2 in Lego before finally getting one for Christmas and releasing the pod in the bath!

Virgil and the elevator cars... brilliant finishing upside down - even made my dad laugh at such a rescue. Personal favourite - End of the Road, with all manner of hi-tech equipment to hand. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best! Still wonder if Eddie Houseman ever found out! Thanks and keep the ball rolling, much appreciated." Philip Ashcroft, Odeon, Preston

"On my own, but met two new Thunderbirds fans there. It was worth going on a very rainy day to see these two amazing episodes on the big screen. Terror in New York City is my favourite episode of Thunderbirds since I first saw it in the 1960s. To experience it along with people of all ages who came with children and enjoyed the experience made the whole thing worthwhile." Clive Stuart Eardley, National Museum, Bradford

"On holiday for my birthday, Loved the theatre, Herne Bay itself, the experience was spoilt by a couple sat behind me (who should of known better) who enjoyed pre-empting everything that was said then chuckling away loudly at their own hilarity. Fortunately at the interval, I was able to move to an empty seat and enjoyed the second episode in all its glory!" Michael Kevin Hogan, Kavanagh, Herne Bay

"I went with my 4 year old son, who absolutely loved it. And when we got home, we went through all my old Thunderbirds toys and books." Sam Williamson, Odeon, Hull

"It was amazing to see a piece of history on the big screen and in such amazing quality." Muaaz Chowdhury, Picturehouse, Greenwich

"Went with my wife it was great fun not many there but a couple of youngsters in the audience which was great! It was good to see the films so clearly and no tampering with the scripts e.g. smoking on the new airliner. Brought back lots of memories I used to have the double trailer lorry at the title scene. Parker was fabulous yet again!" Iain Price, Odeon, Southend

"When I booked to see the Thunderbirds 4K screening at a cinema in a town near me, I wasn't quite sure what to expect; would there be only half a dozen people in the theatre? Would I spend most of my time irritated because I could see the strings? But no; the screening I went to (about a 200-seat venue) was more than half full and since I had booked my ticket, the cinema had put on not just one but TWO other viewings earlier in the day.

I did notice a few strings, but what struck me most was the detail I could see, like what was written on the clipboard the stewardess was holding when she was talking to Tin Tin. I was most struck by the fabric of the costumes, the silk of Tin Tin's dress, that muslin and cotton used for Kyrano's outfit; the detail was so good, I felt I could reach out and touch them. I was also impressed by the depth of field in shots like TB2's hangar and the landing of TB1 at London Airport. So I had a great afternoon and, because another town near me is showing the episodes the weekend after next, I'm planning to go with two other Podsterons who had been working last Saturday, so I'll be able to enjoy it all over again!

We all know that Gerry wanted to make movies, not puppet shows. I'm sure he would have been happy that his 60-year-old puppet show was now being shown in more than 200 cinemas across the country, and enjoyed by several generations of viewers." Pen Quiller, Odeon, Telford

"Went on my own and loved it. The print was gorgeous and it was great to see it in the big screen. It was also smashing to see so many people in the cinema for it." Paul Meads, Odeon Epsom

"I went with my husband and my father-in-law, had a brilliant time, my father-in-law felt like a child again! FAB!" Jodie Boliver, Odeon, Birmingham Broadway

"Went with son, great to see on the large screen, seeing more detail and remastering was great to see. Added bonus was Wayne Forester was also watching, even managed a quick chat with Captain Scarlet!" Phil Benfield, Odeon, Aylesbury

"I went to go see Thunderbirds in the cinema (never thought I'd ever get the chance to say that) with my wife. It was incredible, I was grinning from ear to ear like the child I once was as the opening started. It felt like magic, from hearing the famous countdown start to the end credits. The episodes, despite having seeing them to the point I can quote them word to word, were more breath-taking than ever in 4K, a flawless restoration effort. Well done to the team behind this, the excitement to finally see Thunderbirds on the big screen was not lost at any point during my experience. FAB!" Aaron Heart, Odeon, Northampton.

"Me and my wife went together, it was such an amazing experience. Never thought in my life I'd see Thunderbirds on the big screen. Brought back rich memories of me watching the shows at home when I was little." Jamie Collins, Parkway, Cleethorpes

"I took my seven year old son, who wore the same Virgil costume I wore at his age. Seeing the Thunderbirds and all the nostalgic imagery on a big screen was amazing but the best part was sharing this childhood love with him and watching him get into it, to the point of flying the 90s Matchbox toy Thunderbirds in time with the onscreen action." Stephen Sambrook, Harbour, Southampton

"My wife Lorraine has been in love with Thunderbirds since she was a child. Whilst I love thunderbirds myself it can't compare to her love for it including going so far as to have replicas of the marionettes. As we both loved it and have gotten our kids into it, we figured not only would it be a good idea to get them to the cinema to see it, but for Lorraine to see it in the big screen for the first time would be incredible. It truly was amazing to see the episodes on the big screen, thank you so so much for doing this its given us a great memory to share with our kids and pass on our love for the show." Barry Devlin, Odeon, Belfast

"I enjoyed it. There were a mix of age groups, male and female. Great to see that Thunderbirds has such a wide audience. I was riveted to the screen the whole time. It looked great on the large screen, the launch scenes especially. Going along on my own was a big step for me as I have social anxiety and I found myself relaxing and had a really nice time. I wore my Lady Penelope t-shirt as well and would definitely go again to something similar. Thank you." Amanda Peters, The Light, Thetford

"Took my two sons, who are making animation movies of their own to see what inspired me as a child, glad to say they loved the experience and thought the vehicles and live action feel were... F.A.B." Tom Gorrell, Odeon, Kingston

"Fun, FAB bonding experience with all those attending the 60th screening. We sat before the lights dimmed, sharing our love and memories of the show (In particular everyone's favourite Thunderbird). There were those who first fell in love with Thunderbirds in the 1990's (who brought their children). There were stalwarts from the 1960's and fans from today. Lovely to see a shared unity across the decades.

The 4K restoration did not disappoint. As the opening countdown of "5..." began, you could sense the palpable grip of hands on arm rests, seatbelts buckled in, and everyone ready to blast off in their own favourite Thunderbird once more!" Anonymous, The Light, Bradford

"I went to the showing with my partner she was even more excited to go than me. I went in my international Rescue t-shirt and my partner went in her Moonbase Alpha t-shirt. We were both Gerry Anderson fans. It was great to meet likeminded fans and whoever we introduced ourselves to we were soon reminiscing the good old times. During the screening, we were both enthralled in the show and I got to see a show I had totally forgot about. Afterwards, we were smiling from ear to ear, we had so much more fun than what we thought we would have. Please can we see more how about Space 1999's Breakaway on the big screen?" Gideon Reed, The Light, Walsall

"My son took me for my 70th birthday and as I said to him I would not have believed when I watched the first episode as a 10 year old with my dad 60 years ago in black and white only having a black and white TV that 60 years later I would be watching the same episodes in the cinema in colour with my son. My wife daughter and two granddaughters went shopping while we were in the cinema, then we met up after for a meal at a restaurant of my choice. A very special day, we travelled down from Suffolk for the day with my son now living in Greenwich. A lovely and very special day." Anthony Mortimer, Odeon, Greenwich

"It was so nostalgic to watch the 60th anniversary double bill on the big screen. I went with my good friend, Ant, and it was so awesome to see so many people of different generations in one place sharing their love for something. I grew up watching the re-runs in the 90s, and it was a show that not only inspired me into a career helping people in the NHS, but still continues to stick with me to this day! Also, a special thank you to my wonderful husband, Scott, for looking after our little one for the day so I could attend the screening." Jojo Yap-Sanderson, Picturehouse, Central

"I went alone, without any special dress. Being old enough to remember them in black and white on TV, seeing them in colour on a very big screen was wonderful. The extra detail of the equipment and the weathering that was done to the models was really good." Easom Tanner, Odeon, Leeds Thorpe

"I attended the double bill with my wife and my father-in-law and we loved that there were not just lots of people at the screening, but such a range of ages as well, from people who would have experienced it during the original 60's run, right down to kids who may have been watching for the very first time.

It was incredible to be watching this show (that has been such a big part of my life since the first time I saw it during its 1991 broadcast) up on the big screen in a room full of people. I got chills when the music started playing and into the opening scene with The Hood, and I actually felt very emotional when Scott makes his way to Thunderbird 1 for the very first time and that march kicks in, and again when Virgil begins his descent down the chute to Thunderbird 2; two utterly iconic moments that I've seen hundreds of times, but just felt like a completely different experience on that day.

It was amusing hearing audience reactions to certain moments during the episodes, especially laughter at bits that probably weren't intended to be funny at the time the show was made, but through the eyes of a modern audience perhaps hit a little bit differently! The whole thing was an absolute delight from start to finish!" Jay Fenney, Odeon, Bournmouth

"Went on my own and still experienced the hairs on the back of my neck tingling, despite having seen these episodes many many times. Wore my Brains: Engineer t-shirt and  many of the others were in cosplay. A great time and would happily go again if ever more episodes ever get shown on the big screen. It all made me feel young again." David William Lewis, Odeon, Milton Keynes

"I went on my own, but unexpectedly and happily met a colleague. Afterwards we had coffee and chatted at length about how seeing Thunderbirds at the cinema made the stories even more spectacular and gripping. I was amazed at how detailed the scenes were. The sound was awesome too. A brilliant experience - more soon, please!" John Griffiths, Picturehouse, Exter

"It was such a pleasure to see these episodes with my son. It did take me back to watching this show back home in Sydney on Saturday morning in the 70's & 80's." Michael Philbey, Movies@ Durnham

"I found myself almost overwhelmed by the opening title sequence; Barry Gray's music is such a major part of what is so great about Thunderbirds." Philip Bilzon, Savoy Cinema, Nottingham

"I went on my own to watch the anniversary double bill, However, I knew as soon as I arrived I was not alone. Before the screening started, the whole audience were talking to each other - over the backs of the seats along the rows, they were sharing memories of past shows and meeting Gerry and cast members over the years. It's not something that you would normally experience by going to the cinema and that all happened before it even started. There is not much to add about the actual screening apart from FAB. It was amazing seeing childhood memories on the BIG screen. Fingers crossed others get shown." James Beckford, Odeon, Chatham

"I went with my partner and daughter for a trip out, and why not catch the Thunderbirds on the big screen. It was nice to share the experience of watching something I loved when I was small with my daughter, made all the better by viewing it in the cinema setting." David Donaldson, Odeon, Trafford

"Really enjoyed seeing Thunderbirds on the big screen. I am in my 60th year too! Film has been nicely restored. The cinema was packed and good to see!" Martin Ensor, Picturehouse, Exeter

"It was absolutely fantastic. I went with my dad and it brought us both so much joy seeing Thunderbirds on the big screen. Thunderbirds has a magic about it that nothing else compares. It always brings out the child within us! Watching it with Dad brought back vivid memories of being introduced to Thunderbirds on VHS in the early 90's. Treasured memories and I'm thrilled to relive that with dad now." Chris Simmonite, Odeon, Taunton

"Went wearing my Thunderbirds TB2 t-shirt. Amazing to see Thunderbirds on the big screen for the first time with other fans celebrating its enduring popularity after 60 years." Mark Lovekin, Omniplex, High Wycombe

"When my first nephew was an infant, he would happily sit and watch Thunderbirds with me. Nowadays, he's a personal trainer in his twenties, he's covered in muscles and is taller than me! Nevertheless, when I saw that the Tracy brothers were returning to cinemas for the first time in decades, I gave him a call. I wondered if he was too cool, too grown up, or too embarrassed by his old uncle to come and watch Thunderbirds with me. I wasn't sure if he even remembered the show! But I needn't have worried. Not only did he remember, he was eager for the full cinema experience. He didn't bashfully hide behind his popcorn at all! We had a great time, and afterwards, we had a good old Thunderbirds chat. It was a great cross-generational experience. Thank you! 'F.A.B!'" Alex Balls, The Light, Thetford

"I went with my 8-year-old son, who said it was his favourite thing we've done together. I can't disagree! A dad with 2 young boys was near us. The boys did not want to be there at all at the start and were complaining a lot. It didn't take long for the action to grab their attention and they were mostly quiet from then on!" Matthew Edmonds, The Light, Banbury

"A full house! I was treated by my wife who had never watched an episode! She thought that Thunderbirds had great charm and love the over the top music. She now says "F. A. B." when she answers any question." Richard Thurston, Picturehouse, Oxford

"Went on my own, good to see it on the big screen." Stephen Rance, Odeon, Epsom

"Attended by myself and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Nice patrons in the cinema." Vern Power, Ritzy, Brixton

"Attended along with my wife, who is not a particular fan but very tolerant of her husband's interests. Despite being very familiar with the two episodes I found the cinema experience was like discovering them anew, and you could sense the tension in the audience as Fireflash bore down on the elevator cars, and as Thunderbird 4 searched desperately for Ned Cook. Most importantly - Thunderbird 2 has never looked so imposing and downright beautiful! The event went by all-too-quickly, and we both felt it was a testament to the quality of this 60-year-old children's show that it absolutely belongs on the big screen!" David Rounce, Odeon, Glasgow Quay

"The most memorable moment came when the captain of the Fireflash announced that the passengers could unfasten their seatbelts and smoke, and the entire audience, over a certain age, laughed out loud. How times have changed." David Slade, Odeon, Southend

"Me and my friend Mike went, loved seeing it on the big screen, brought back so many memories from being a kid watching with family and friends. Would love to see more episodes on the big screen." Gary Adams, Odeon, Milton Keynes

"Took me back to true real excitement, with excellent engaging storylines in brilliant 4K sound. It was FAB!" Malcolm Kay, Omniplex, Wigan

"I instantly knew I wanted to watch Thunderbirds on the big screen, especially since Trapped in the Sky is one of my favourite episodes. I immediately noticed a crisper quality image and improved sound and it was a treat to watch it all unfold on screen. It made it more enjoyable getting to listen to Barry Gray's soundtrack, the opening titles and especially the music as Fireflash and the elevator cars charge down the runway on its final attempt. It made me appreciate the series more I grew up with and if given the chance I would love to have more episodes shown in cinemas." John Jennings, The Light, Stockport

"I went with my dad, husband and 12 year-old-daughter, my 16 year-old-son was sad to miss it, he had a ticket booked but started a new job so couldn't attend. I wore my Tracy Island T-shirt and FAB Lady Penelope bag. The quality of the picture was fantastic, the Hood's temple was amazing and Kyrano's statue, it was wonderful to see detail I had missed seeing it on a small TV over the years. My dad spotted a souvenir shop behind Tin Tin on Fireflash he hadn't noticed before and I loved hearing the clarity of all the different languages being spoken over the radio in Thunderbird 5." Nadine Parsons, Odeon Trafford

"I met a small group of my Podsteron friends in the foyer, where we had a nice chat for about an hour before we were allowed into the cinema. Watching two episodes of this magnificent series from over half a century ago I found the experience very moving. The show is like an old friend and congratulations to Jamie for this wonderful way of celebrating the show. May the celebrations continue." Duncan Moss, Rio, Dalston

"Went to the cinema with my other half. The rain was torrential on Saturday but we battled through it and really glad we did! Watching Thunderbirds on the big screen was brilliant and it brought back memories of sitting far to close to the TV on a Saturday morning watching International Rescue on ITV. She really enjoyed it as well but kept asking 'when will the Mysterons turn up?' Maybe we could have some Captain Scarlet next time." Andrew Mumford, Odeon, Middlesbrough

"Went with my partner, was really good seeing Thunderbirds on the big screen." Alex Keating, Odeon, Trafford

"My wife and I attended the screening and watching it brought back a lot of great early childhood memories in the late 1960's. Though we have Thunderbirds on DVD, it was somehow special seeing it on the big screen which was particularly memorable for myself as I do remember watching the first TB movie with my mother when I was a 5 year old boy. The screen at Hebden Bridge cinema is excellent, with comfy seats, great viewing points and an excellent sound system which was helpful given my age and the majority of other people in attendance - there must have been about 100 or so people whom I suspect watched Thunderbirds when it was released in the 60's. It was also good to see they brought along their grandchildren ensuring Gerry's legacy of this fab series continues beyond its original audience.

The selection of the episodes to show was inspired but I particularly loved watching Trapped in the Sky, a particular favourite of mine. Even being 60+ years old did not diminish the excitement and tension this episode generated - yes ok, you know the outcome but you still get drawn into the drama. Overall, an experience that generated very fond memories of a TV series that has subsequently brought such tremendous pleasure to myself and wife over many years." John Wadsworth-Lakin, Picturehouse, Hebden Bridge

"I went to see this double bill, accompanied by my wife. She expected to find it dull as she actually hated when she was a young child but quite enjoyed both episodes to her surprise.

As for me, I'm a lifelong Thunderbirds fan and it's the first thing I became truly obsessed with as a child. The chance to see it on the big screen was something I hardly even thought would happen, but to see the two episodes in 4K and on the big screen was sublime. The sound was also amazing, to hear the iconic countdown in a cinema, followed by the roar of Thunderbird 1 launching! I'll never forget it.

My cinema did not advertise it, so my wife and I almost had the cinema to ourselves bar one other person for this showing. It was a matter of envy for many in the comments online, that did not get to see it on the big screen and I don't blame them, they truly missed out on something that can only be described as magical." Paul Dolan, Odeon, Waterford

"It was fun to watch such familiar episodes on the big screen with 5.1 sound, alongside with others who were clearly long-time fans." Stewart Forshaw, The Light, Cambridge

"Myself and my brother visited to recall our past, sitting down to watch on a Saturday morning in front of the TV... almost 60 years ago!" Rob Schofield, Odeon, Bournemouth

"I went with my dad who got me into Thunderbirds over 30 years ago. It was an amazing experience watching Thunderbirds on a big screen like how it should be seen all the time. I am always watching Thunderbirds and other Gerry Anderson shows, but it was nice to finally watch it at the cinema." Marc Lambert, Majestic, Kings Lynn

"I took my 12 year old with me and she loved it as much as I did. FAB to see Thunderbirds on the big screen, reliving my childhood and it was amazing." Suzy Jones, The Light, Walsall

"I went on my own but not brave enough to cosplay (although I used to do this during Thunderbirds initial run in 1965/1966!). It was good to be with other likeminded audience members (what is the name for a Thunderbirds/Gerry Anderson fan? - Andersonites!). On the big screen I could see details I missed on a smaller screen, particularly in relation to the various craft. As a 60's child, I remember having a trolley I made to look like Thunderbird 2, and a Thunderbirds hat made out of newspaper. Good, innocent days with programmes like these making me a lifetime sci-fi fan." Paul Lawrence, Omniplex, Sutton

"I attended the screening with my husband and best friend. Out of the three of us, I was the only one wearing an official Thunderbirds T-shirt and cap. The theatre hasn't changed in appearance for 80 years and seated around 100 people. It was great to see that there wasn't a spare seat in the house and there were only five children under 12 in the audience. Everyone else was an adult ranging from around 18 - 70.

The audience took an active part in the screening, laughing at certain points, some oohs and ahhs, cheering softly. It brought back very happy memories and the two episodes chosen were good ones which were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, and it made me feel like that little kid again who used to watch it every week. Thunderbirds is my favourite Gerry Anderson series and seeing it on a large screen was a real treat and I am now waiting with anticipation for the arrival of the special 60th anniversary remastered Blu-ray version!

Thank you so much for arranging this adventure!!" Jacqui Armitage, Kinema, Woodall Spa.

"Yes, I remember watching Terror in New York City, when Thunderbird 2 was attacked by the Sentinel and when Thunderbird 4 was called out it had to be shipped to New York by Sentinel to rescue Ned cook and Joe when the empire state building collapsed, this took me back. Good times they were - F.A.B." Harold Etherington-Smith, Odeon, Guildford

"I went with my husband. I wore a Thunderbird t-shirt. We enjoyed the shows and looking back when I was younger." Allen Margett, Odeon, Birmingham Broadway

"Went by myself. Not seen Thunderbirds for a few years and thoroughly enjoyed it. The show looked amazing for a kids' TV program from the 1960s." Jon Mayson, Odeon, Leeds Thorpe

"Always loved Thunderbirds, I grew up with it and all Anderson productions, so this was a must, it was absolutely amazing to see all the effects and action in HD plus Barry's music pumping out loud. I wore my 60th anniversary t-shirt from your website plus a IR badge and wore them with pride, thanks for this amazing opportunity and looking forward to seeing the boxset." Matt Bovingdon, Odeon, Milton Keynes

"Went with my wife. It was pretty sharp picture, nice to see such detail. Great nostalgia." Shaun Vaughn, Odeon, Maidenhead

"Me and my sister remember watching the original when kids and collecting the bubble gum cards. Fantastic to watch it again on the big screen. Would have been nicer rather than just showing both episode to have a 60th anniversary introduction and maybe Jamie Anderson saying a few words about his mum and dad." Ian Mitch, Odeon, Lee Valley

"Loved it, and brough back memories of watching it on VHS as a kid in the 90s." Daniel Mallory, Picturehouse, York

"Watched it twice. Was great to see on the big screen, the clarity, the sound. Brought back all the excitement when I first watched as a child." Adam Harris, Odeon, Hereford

"Having already owned both original episodes as part of the Supermarionation Blu-ray package for a number of years, I was neither surprised nor overwhelmed by this presentation. It might have been a more exciting experience to see episodes not yet available on the Blu-ray format like Attack of the Alligators! or Sun Probe, to name a few. However, it was still a pleasure to see Thunderbirds on the big screen in high definition. I look forward to reliving the rest of the series when it comes out on the 60th anniversary Blu-ray package.

The very thought of seeing these two iconic TV related Thunderbirds stories on the BIG screen was a dream come true. I've watched them over the years boy and man (I'm 69 now) so many times and I never get tired of them. I went on my own but it was amazing to see youngsters with there parents and grandads and grandmas. A lady sat next to me with I'm assuming was her older adult children, at the of the viewings we said goodbye to each other.

When the credits started '5... 4... 3... 2... 1!' you could hear the words spoken under the audience's breath. Then we where all spellbound to see our hero's on the big screen in 4K." John Smerdon, Odeon, Telford

"Went with granddaughter, who is at university. We went to see the show to remember the times we watched DVDs when she was young. She said she hadn't seen as much Thunderbirds as she saw more Stingray because she liked Marina. I realised how important the music was in helping to tell the story. We ate popcorn, snacks and hotdogs and remembered our midnight snacks. We remembered the pop up biography book of the Tracy's we used to read together." Yvonne Thirlaway, Odeon, Stoke-on-Trent

"Recommend to sit at the back so you and dance like nobody's watching, 'cos nobody IS watching. Flail your arms to 5-4-3-2-.......Uh-WUUUN! Flood the black chasm with Barry Gray. Job done." Phil S. Odeon, Bridgend

"The double bill was incredible, I took my other half who hadn't seen any Thunderbirds and she was absolutely loving every second, it was incredible seeing these episodes in such wonderful clarity & on the big screen like I've never seen before. I started watching Thunderbirds when I was a kid in the 90's with my nan & this was just a flood of memories. I can't wait to get the whole series box set and I'm just so excited of everything Anderson Entertainment is doing at the moment!" Kris G. Odeon, Tamworth

"I went by myself but soon got talking to other fans and we were all well looking forward to it as none us had ever seen Thunderbirds in the cinema before. You could see all the detail so clearly and showed how ahead Gerry Anderson was with model and film making and we'll forever enjoy it." Mark Howard-Kind, Odeon, Norwich

"This was a nostalgia fest for myself being a rare chance to see 2 classic Thunderbirds episodes on the big screen and in 4K! Just seeing the opening countdown brought shivers of pure joy to this late 60's citizen who had only seen the iconic intro on the small screen as a school boy kid. Seeing the countdown with each Thunderbird craft so large on the screen was as if my childhood favs were life-size! As for the story, well, what hit me was the detail that went into every model, which being so enlarged on the big screen was stunning, and to think this was originally done for a children's programme!

The small vehicles such as the elevator trucks for Fireflash to land on, the wheels were so impressive, the tyres exploding, the smoke from them breaking, fire breaking out, you'd think was a Hollywood movie from the detail that was put into it. The craftmanship was stunning, and seeing this on the big screen made the wonder of it, all the more impressive, that plus the wonderful Barry Gray soundtrack. It was a childhood memory brought back to life and delighted all the senses. It was no wonder when the two films ended that they got applause! Thank you so much Gerry and Silvia Anderson, what a legacy you left for us to relive and enjoy." Nigel Curtis, Omniplex, Birmingham

"Seeing the boys on the big screen was FAB, you could see how much love and detail the models and puppets had received by the team. More please." Christopher Fenn, Odeon, Norwich

"Absolutely brilliant. You cannot take anything away from that masterful puppetry, strings an' all." Paul Chamberlain, Odeon, Epsom

"Introduced my granddaughter to my childhood heroes." David Oneill, Odeon, Rochdale

"Exited and happy and I would like to see more of it on the big screen." Joe Johnson, Odeon, Liverpool One

"Went with my wife and 2 lads who have loved Thunderbirds since they were young. Scott wore his Thunderbirds t-shirt. The derail on the big screen was amazing and we loved the double bill." Louis Perer, Odeon, Dundee Douglas

"I went to the screening with my wife. I was impressed by the clarity of the picture and the dialogue. Also the stereo sound effects." Martin Lang, Odeon, Telford

"I went with my dad, he was 9 when Thunderbirds was first shown on tv. He watched on a 405 line black and white tv. My dad got me into Thunderbirds in 1992 when it had a resurgence. My nan recorded every episode off BBC2 for me. Watching Thunderbirds on a cinema screen with the improved clarity and sound was brilliant for me and out of this world for my dad." Ben Browning, The Light, Cambridge

"I went on my own to see the double bill of two fantastic episodes, was an experience I wanted for such a long time and I wanted to immerse myself in the viewing experience. I wore the Anderson Entertainment Never give up t-shirt as I thought it was appropriate given it's been something I've always hoped would be shown in a cinema. The atmosphere was amazing, friendly and was a really good turn out. Hearing Barry Gray's music in cinema sound was simply amazing. Since it was the first time in the cinema watching these it felt like the first time I had ever seen them.  Hanging on every scene looking forward to the next. Landing the Fireflash was a particular highlight as it is the first memory I have of Thunderbirds, it was that scene back in the early 90s that started my love of Thunderbirds. Here's to many more occasions where Thunderbirds (and other properties) coming to cinemas again!" James Pilson-Wood, Odeon, Bournemouth

"Thunderbirds on the big screen: An explosive treat! After a long week, I decided to head to the cinema for a bit of a break, having bought the tickets in advance. I wasn't in cosplay, just looking forward to seeing something familiar on the big screen. Screen 4 at the Banbury Light is a great spot, with comfortable recliner chairs with plenty of space. I went to the 12:30 Saturday showing on my own, since there aren't many Anderson fans nearby. There were about seven people in the room, mostly adults with children.

It was lovely to see the show projected so large. The picture was clear, and the scale gave it a fresh feel. The sound was fine, but it felt a 2D, mostly coming from the front, with not much surround effect. I was sitting in the middle and expected a bit more immersion. Still, I got into the story quickly. Trapped in the Sky looked great, especially the foreground details and the soundtrack. Some of the background shots weren't as sharp, but that's not unusual for shows from that era, even Hitchcock films had similar traits.

The model work and sense of speed were impressive, especially the aerial shots of Fireflash. The launch of Thunderbird 2 was a highlight, as always. The runtime felt just right, though I wouldn't have minded a short break in the middle, I'm at the age where an intermission is appreciated. When Terror in New York started, it brought back memories of seeing it as a child in the early '70s. I remember being really worried about Virgil and TB2 back then. Even though I knew the ending, it was nice to reflect on those feelings. These two episodes were a great choice for the screening.

Thanks to the Gerry Anderson Podcast over the years, I found myself wondering how the models were made, especially the cars. They looked like old diecast toys, maybe Dinky, or perhaps custom-built to resemble them. Furthermore, I chuckled as the pilot that failed to retrieve the bomb from Fireflash was called Meddings, a lovely tribute to the creator of so many of the excellent designs across the different shows, more so to have this on the first Thunderbirds episode was all the more special.

It might have been nice to have a short introduction from someone like Jamie to explain context, the 60th anniversary, the restored episodes, and the wider Anderson universe. That could've helped new viewers and reminded long-time fans of what else is out there. There weren't any posters or signs in the cinema, which was a shame. A bit more promotion might've brought in a few more people. I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of the 1990 Radio 5 broadcast of Terror in New York, which had Gerry Anderson himself introducing it and mentioning its inspiration from an event in Japan. I wonder if the series of recordings still exist, it added a lot of depth.

Thanks to Anderson Entertainment and ITV for putting these on the big screen. I'd happily come back for Captain Scarlet or Joe 90 (even though I can imagine Jamie would not agree on the latter, it had great music, good production values and interesting stories." Kris Sukhu, The Light, Banbury

"It was fabulous to see the remastered two episodes, it felt like seeing the episodes on the big screen that it was their true home. I wore a Thunderbirds T-shirt but I was the only person that was, a shame." Cathy Bone, Picturehouse, Central

"Took my grandson, who is 5. He loved both episodes. He'd seen the first one before as I have the box set but not the second which he favoured of the two. Be great if more episodes come to the cinema. Well done to everyone for organising it." Gurpreet Sandhu, The Light, Redhill

"It was a truly amazing experience getting to enjoy the spectacle of two fantastic Thunderbirds episodes together with my Dad. We were at Stand By for Action 2 in Birmingham last year and it brought all those amazing memories flooding back and the memories from each of our childhoods. We were incredibly lucky that Wayne Forester was in the cinema during the viewing we had in Aylesbury, so was very fortunate to get to have a quick chat with one of the amazing voice talents of many characters from the Anderson world.

Seeing these episodes on the big screen is definitely the place they belong to be viewed in as the level of detail and the stories really draw you in, I have always been a huge fan of the model work used in the Supermarionation shows and seeing it on the big screen made time flash by. We left the cinema wanting to watch more of the show, will definitely be up for seeing more Anderson Entertainment material in cinema as they truly deserve and hold up so well." Simon Benfield, Odeon, Aylesbury

"My friend Judith came too. It was thrilling to watch the two episodes on the big screen. Brought back so many happy memories. Everyone in the audience seemed in a happy mood. Some had brought grandchildren with them which was lovely to see." Jane Weir, Picturehouse, Chester

"From a small black & white TV screen in September 1965 to a gigantic 21st century cinema screen in September 2025, I've experienced it all. When the new Thunderbirds screening began with Trapped In The Sky, I was blown away by the presentation. Jeff Tracy's countdown to disaster has never sounded so dramatic or thrilling. The soundtrack is incredible, while the films colourful picture, emboldened by its new 4K transfer/restoration, exploded off the screen. Characters, props and sets came to life with a stunning new detail not previously experienced - it was Deja vu with a twist. No need for CGI here; Derek Meddings' 1965 special effects proved why he went from the Tracy family to Bond. When the screening ended, on my side of the cinema the audience clapped with respect and admiration, reflecting what I've always felt about Thunderbirds and carried with me all these years. To hear this same appreciation from other people in this context was highly gratifying." Gary Alston, Odeon, Epsom

"Loved it. Seeing it now highlights the humour and detail of the dialogue. All the action encourages me to dig out my box set and revisit the whole series. The screen could have been bigger though. FAB." Rod Collington, Odeon, Leicester

"Went wife my wife, it bought back memories from the 60's where Granada North West England TV channel used to show Thunderbirds either side of the early evening news." Ken Mallinson, Odeon, Chatham

"Brought back lots of happy memories. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing these again." Dan Barker, The Light, Sittingbourne

"Made me feel like I was six years old again! Only downside was due to the choice of episodes we only got the TB2 launch sequence once." James Tovey, Odeon, Liverpool One

"Went with my 43 year old daughter! It was so good. The cinema was packed with guys of a certain age (like me!), families with young children and even a few younger women. Excellent mix." Graham Burgin, Picturehouse, Exeter

"I went with my brother for both the 60th anniversary and my 25th birthday. It was FAB fabulous to see the show on the big screen, though I'm not fond of the original soundtrack as I grew up with the 2000s remaster. Thus I ordered the limited edition Blu-ray as it has the option to listen to both. Small wonder Lord Lew Grade referred to Trapped in the Sky as not a TV series, but a feature film! There aren't many TV shows intended for kids that can work for whole families and on the big screen." Sam Chadwick, The Light, Huddersfield

"My wife and I took the hour and 15 min drive to settle down to watch Thunderbirds on the big screen. This evoked the memories of my late mother taking my elder brother and myself to the Folkestone cinema to see Thunderbirds Are Go back in the sixties. I must have only been 2 or 3 years old at the time. Those amazing visuals of the Thunderbirds in action must have left a impression on my little mind. Fast forward to 2025. On hearing '5, 4, 3, 2, 1 - Thunderbirds are go!' blasting out of the cinema speakers brought a tear of joy to this 60yr old man. At the same time sending me back all those years. The 2025 presentation was full of colour and amazement. It just re-enforced the vision and skill of Gerry and the Thunderbirds team. A big thank you to Jamie and his team for keeping the legacy glowing so bright. F.A.B." Nicholas Alan Swain, Odeon, Tunbridge Wells

"I went with my wife and daughter. Wore my Thunderbirds 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 t-shirt to the double bill. I wouldn't fit in my Thunderbirds outfit if I still had it! It was a great day out, I'd forgotten how brilliant the puppet faces were!" Del Walker, Kavanagh, Herne Bay

"I went on my own and I had my Stand By for Action 2 t-shirt on watching Thunderbirds, brought back memories from watching the show back in the 90s. It was an amazing experience watching it on the big screen." Stuart Dunkley, Odeon, Dunfermline

"Great, all ages were transfixed by the timeless action on the big screen." Tim Brooker, Phoenix, Falmouth

"Very nostalgic, and great to see on a big screen. So many details I'd never spotted before." Thomas Sherlock, Picturehouse, Central

"I saw the 60th anniversary presentation at the Telford Odeon, along with my very supportive, though unenthusiastic, wife. Great to see the showing was quite full. My initial view was that, whilst it was great to see Thunderbirds back in cinemas and getting national attention, the 4K upgrade didn't make much difference. As things progressed, however, certain features such as the detail on the model work became really prominent. The Tracy Island interior looked especially good, as did all the Thunderbird craft. All in all, it was a really memorable afternoon of pure nostalgia and I am glad we went along." David Spencer, Odeon, Telford

"I recruited two children and their mum and dad to join me watching the double bill. I was fantastic to see the Tracy boys do their stuff on the big screen. At 61 years of age, I have watched both episodes countless times, but always on TV. Seeing International Rescue on the big screen was something else... it was F.A.B." David Young, Odeon, Belfast

"I went on my own wearing a T2 t-shirt, I've never seen Thunderbirds on the big screen. The restoration to 4K was brilliant. Saturday afternoon allowed me to time travel back to the early 1970s when I first saw Thunderbirds. I really enjoyed it!!" Terry Lewis, Odeon, Basingstoke

"I went on my own, with some popcorn and some weak orange squash, nearest I could get to Kia Ora. Watching the episodes took me back to being a kid, watching with dad who would have loved this. An amazing and emotional afternoon, but F.A.B.!" Trinie Parsons, Odeon, Chatham

"I took my 5 year old son, he loves Thunderbirds. This was special as my dad saw the original showing with his grandad and now I've managed to take my son to see Thunderbirds in the cinema. The screening was amazing. The only extra thing I wanted was some merchandise to mark the special viewing." Elliott Jackson, Odeon, Guilford

"I had been looking forward to this all week just as I had 60 years ago when it was first aired. Only then it was on a black and white telly in my mum and dad's, but still no less exciting. The sheer size of the big screen was amazing and the quality of the movie was tip top. The story had well stood the test of time considering when it was written. It's only a pity there wasn't anyone there from Anderson Entertainment giving out some small token souvenir to mark the event. I had once travelled to London to see a theatre show with guys in thunderbird hats but it can't beat the real thing." Chris Simpson, Odeon, Liverpool One

"The Thunderbirds 60th screenings were beyond my expectations. It was amazing to see the two episodes on the big screen. As well as the picture being fab quality the sound quality was great too. It's hard to believe the episodes are over 60 years old and are still as relevant and futuristic today (apart from the amount of smoking going on, but hey some things do change for the better). I am 68 now and was just as excited, if not more so, to watch them on the big screen.

I was still a kid admiring all the fantastic vehicles which still look viable today. There were a lot of excited enthusiastic older people in the cinema and I had chance to chat with some of them, which was nice. There were also some younger ones and Grandchildren maybe, lucky to be able to be exposed to International Rescue on the big screen with their grandparents. Mostly a male audience but a few females including my good wife, Jan, who remembers watching Thunderbirds weekly round at her grandad's house on a tiny TV screen. A great experience and looking forward to the 4K release I have on order. Thanks to Anderson Entertainment and to The Picturehouse (which is a modern but traditional style cinema)." Gary Royston Dennett, Picturehouse, Chester

"Happy memories of watching the episodes as a child." Tim Peel, Odeon, Birmingham Broadway

"I took my grandchildren Holly, 7, and Laurance, 10. Laurance wore 'the Brains of the operation' t-shirt that had bought him a while ago and showed it off to the other people and got a thumbs up. They both loved the afternoon out at the pictures. I on the other hand started to see things that as a young child never noticed like all the little notices and how did they build the hangers on an island without anyone noticing? But for a few hours I was able to be the same age of my grandchildren. When's the next one? 60 years maybe to long for me to wait! F.A.B." James Simpson, Savoy Cinema, Nottingham

"Was delighted that there was spontaneous applause at the end of the screening." Anonymous, Odeon, Kingston

"Me and my 7 year old son (William) booked and went to The QUAD cinema in Derby. I wore my Thunderbirds 60th Anniversary t-shirt and my son went fully dressed as Scott Tracy. Choosing to travel to the venue by train meant that we both had all the attention on the train plus when we walked through the town centre. Lots on people of all ages said how cool he looked and asked where we were going. At the screening, I was amazing to look around and see just how many people were there and of all different ages and groups. The screening itself was I'd say 85% full.

Though I feel that some of the definition and in some cases the sound may have been lost in the projection, I could tell it was 4K and an improvement. The fact that I noticed is only because I have seen the episode so much being such a big fan. Seeing it on a 4K TV to me will be the best cleanest way to experience the full definition of the restoration.

At the end of the screening, lots of people clapped and mingled in the reception talking about past memories and favourite episodes. I'm happy to say that William enjoyed it so much that when we returned home he asked to watch an extra episode when we got home, so Attack of the Alligators it was! F.A.B. I'm looking forward to the prospect of future screening, whether it be in 4K or HD. Brilliant and thank you to all involved." Scott Sadler, QUAD, Derby

"Although I agree with some of the comments about the 4K promised not quite coming across, I still had a fantastic evening watching these again. I first saw them on original transmission mid '60s on TV. I am 68 and was transformed into that 8 year old child again. It was great seeing a wide range of ages in the cinema (6 to 60). I do not visit the cinema very often as rowdiness and talking during the showing puts me off. However, if they put two episodes a month of a variety of Gerry Anderson shows on here, I for one would be glad to attend despite the distractions. Well done." Paul Clarke, The Light, New Brighton

"It's a great little cinema, but has the full sound system. A proper pot mug of coffee and a cake, with miles of legroom. I'm not actually sure I've seen Trapped In The Sky before, to see the detail of the puppets on the big screen was a treat. I definitely have seen Terror In New York City, and its one of my favourites. Was there a jump cut from T4 getting swamped by the second building coming down straight into the TV show?!" Andy Carter, Picturehouse, Hebden Bridge

"My wife joined me, but without cosplay. Great to see it on the big screen. Brilliant sound and everything was pin sharp. It like a blast from the past and the quality of it has persuaded me to get the new boxed set for Christmas and we can enjoy the other episodes on our 65" TV. We only use it for watching DVD or Blu-ray.  I have the Anderson box set that includes Thunderbird, Stingray and Captain Scarlet. That set is brilliant, but this restored set will be a must for me." Glyn Salisbury, Merlin, Thurso

"I went alone with my International Rescue tee. There was nothing better than relaxing in a reclining chair, popcorn in one hand and crisp in the other, watching Thunderbirds on the big screen." Steve Walton, Odeon, Leicester

"I went with my big sister, who isn't necessarily a fan of the show, but it got a few laughs out of her, while I was having the time of MY LIFE. I wore my replica of Virgil's hat (he is my favourite!)." Vee, The Light, Thetford

"I took my partner Brian as he is a great fan. It was heart-warming to watch his face whilst watching all the characters from his childhood. The one I remembered best was Brains. We had a lovely time and to think all those years ago the show was ahead of its time with the gadgets the characters were using." Paula Vale, Odeon, Trafford

"Loved seeing these on a big screen." Graeme Whitton, Odeon, Edinburgh Fort

"I went with my IR t-shirt on and took along my oldest son who is in his 30s. It was great to see Thunderbirds back on the big screen, which took me back to matinee Saturdays in the early 70s. FAB." Phil Orr, Pavilions, Galashiels

"I had an absolute blast. It may have been in 4:3, but it only adds to the nostalgic value. And the sound quality was absolutely awesome to hear through cinema speakers, it really adds to the immersion of the Hood's intimidating line delivery and the sound of Thunderbirds 1 and 2 roaring overhead. Watching two separate episodes back to back on the big screen almost felt like watching one of those old cinema serials of the early to mid 20th century. It was genuinely incredible. If anyone's looking for a way to celebrate the 60th anniversary, I cannot recommend this re-release to them enough." Alex Hall, Odeon, Tunbridge Wells

"I went with my son and we had a great time. I had a great conversation with a gentleman who was there and it was brilliant been able to watch episodes on the big screen." Loz Spencer, Odeon, Stoke-on-Trent

"I went with my daughter and both enjoyed some nostalgia, it was a pity that the day we chose was not very well attended, in fact there were five watching, not sure how well attended the other showing was." Jill Coombes, Odeon, Salisbury

"It was great to see them on a big screen, I loved it as a kid and it didn't disappoint. It was nice to go back to that time as a kid when everything was colourful and fun, I'm very grateful it was on and I could go. It holds up after all these years." Alan Mccoll, Odeon, Telford

"Went with my partner and daughter. Daughter had never seen Thunderbirds but loved it. It was FAB (no pun intended) as I'd never seen it in a cinema before. Can't wait for the box set at Christmas - family has already been informed that's the one and only thing I'd love for Christmas. So pleased there's this resurgence what with not only Thunderbirds but my other favourite Space 1999. What legends Gerry and Sylvia were. I only wish they could be here to see how much love and affection there is for their many amazing creations. Bravo!" Simon Packford, The Light, Cambridge

"I went with my girlfriend to the Light Cinema in Sheffield. I went as a lifelong fan of 40 years so I watched it from somewhat of a critic's point of view, but I was going mainly for the purpose of watching it on the big screen. Unfortunately I've read some of the reviews prior to going. The audio in the respect of speech was enhanced and fantastic it seemed like the sound effects and music by Barry Gray seemed to have blended slightly less into the background than what speech would but I appreciate that this is 60 year old footage that's not meant for the big screen from a critics point of view Virgil's cough was missing from Terror in New York City. Why? I have no idea, but the thing that bought everything back into perspective for me was the little kid sat a row in front of me jumping up and down with great anxiety over whether Thunderbird 2 is going to make it back to the island or not in Terror in New York City. That's what bought it back into perspective for me. It was the the fact that we've all watched it as kids and we've been captivated by this world of Gerry & Sylvia Anderson and the imagination that started for that young man and that's what it's all about because I was a young fan just like him and 60 years on, Thunderbirds is still good - it can still strike an emotional chord with the youth of today." Chris Garratt, The Light, Sheffield

"Loved the screening! I watched the TV series as a boy and it brought back so many memories. We took our two grandsons aged 7 and 10 and they really loved it. They had never seen it at all. I told them I cried when I watched it as a boy when Thunderbird 2 got damaged in the New York episode as T2 was my favourite." Philip Holbrook, Odeon, Port Solent

"Went on my own. No dressing up, but a great experience seeing those episodes on the big screen!" David Millington, Picturehouse, Hebden Bridge

"I went with my wife we both enjoyed the experience of watching the films on the big screen it brought back childhood memories plus it was our anniversary." Paul Taylor, Odeon, Bournemouth

"Really enjoyed reliving a cherished part of my youth. It was fantastic to be in a full screening with all ages represented." Alex Comerford, Picturehouse, Oxford

"This double bill was more than just a trip to the cinema, it was a return to something timeless. At 32, I found myself sitting beside my grandma Beryl, who is now well into her eighties, as we watched the newly restored Thunderbirds double bill in glorious 4K. From the moment the introduction began and the countdown rolled towards those immortal words, Thunderbirds are go, we were both leaning forward, eyes wide, hearts racing as though no time had passed at all.

For me, it was more than nostalgia. The experience carried me straight back to nearly twenty years ago, when I would spend the night at my grandparents' house. My late grandfather would be there too, and together we'd watch the adventures of International Rescue unfold. Sitting in that theatre, I could almost feel the weight of a blanket tucked around me, safe in the cocoon of their living room, when the world felt simpler and smaller, when the only thing that mattered was the thrill of Thunderbirds and being with people I loved.

Sharing that moment with Beryl bridged more than years; it bridged generations. She and I, separated by decades of life, were both children again for a little while, united in awe at Gerry Anderson's puppets taking flight on the big screen. The restoration may have sharpened the images, but it was the memory, the connection, and the presence of my grandmother that made the evening luminous. It wasn't just a film, it was a thread tying past to present, a reminder that some joys never age, and that the right story can carry us all home." Chris Axe, The Light, Sheffield

"Fantastic to see on big screen with surround sound." Patrick Johnson, The Light, Wisbech

"Went with a fellow Gerry Anderson fan, fabulous seats great to see the episodes on the big screen, better than sitting on the floor watching it on TV." Mervyn Hunt, The Light, Walsall

"I have been a massive Thunderbirds fan since 1992 and it was a magical experience to finally take my 7 year old daughter to the double screening. She thought it was amazing and said it was better than watching chipmunks, not sure how she could compare the both, but I can see a future Thunderbirds fan in the making!" Jamie Jackson, Odeon, Liverpool Switch

"Brilliant, lovely watching it, and great seats." Dave Molloy, Odeon, Hatfield

"It was absolutely fab. Me and my partner in crime. Both jiggling in the middle of cinema. What?! There's another episode (I'm obviously not good at reading poster details). Marvellous. Perfect. Couldn't ask for more." David Thorpe, Odeon, Cardiff

"It was a miserable day outside and unfortunately I wasn't in waterproofs as I walked alone to the 12:30 showing. I wore my recently purchased Thunderbird 2 t-shirt and bought a massive bag of salty popcorn and a coffee. The screen was very plush with luxury reclining chairs. One odd thing was, considering the demographic of the audience, seeing every trailer being aimed at 8 year old girls! Then the main event. The lack of surround sound was noticeable but you soon got used to it - this is a 60 year old property after all! The choice of episodes was perfect, two of my favourites - especially as I'm a Virgil/Thunderbird 2 fan. Trapped in the Sky is amazing (I love the elevator car landing sequence) and, despite being a TB2 fan, I love the crash scene in Terror in New York City. I have a weird liking for crashing it seems... Anyway, I left satisfied and, as I walked away, gave a knowing nod to another gent in a Thunderbirds t-shirt heading the other way, obviously enroute to the second showing. A FAB Sunday's entertainment!" Simon David Cooper, Odeon, Birmingham Broadway

"Enjoyed watching it on the big screen in 4K. However did find a continuity error that hadn't noticed before in watching the episode numerous times in 60 years. When the doctor comes to Tracy Island and Jeff presses the button to go into operation cover up, and the pictures change of the brothers in their IR uniforms to civilian clothes. However when the doctor is talking to him the camera pans to Scott and Gordan and the pictures have changed back to the brothers in their IR uniforms. Apart from that, a great experience." Tim Betambeau, Odeon, Hereford

"It was an amazing opportunity to share something that meant so much with me with my children. I'm obsessed with the series and have been for as long as I can remember. You choose two great episodes. My father passed away a few years away from brain cancer and Thunderbirds provides such a wonderful link back to him, Friday evenings and a stack of Channel 5 VHS's - Thank you!!" Mark Walker, Picturehouse, Central

"Absolutely fantastic! It was a delight to enjoy Thunderbirds in the cinema, with an impeccable 4K restoration - the clarity and detail of sound and picture was incredible. I felt like I was watching the episodes again for the first time! I hope both episodes see the light of day again as UHD Blu-Ray or a 4K download, they deserve to be seen widely. It was also lovely to see parents with their kids enjoying it together, for once I was neither the oldest nor the youngest person in the cinema. Now looking forward to my boxset delivery. F.A.B.!" Chris Woods, Odeon, Trafford

"Went with my partner who's old enough to remember these the first time around on a black and white TV it was great to see these episodes in 4K on the big screen and great sound too. I hope you do the same when Captain Scarlet reaches 60." Sarah Cottis, Odeon, Southend

"I took my eight year old son with me who is named after Scott! Its the first time I've really introduced him to the original series so he kept peppering me with questions about the bad man (the Hood) and if the Tracy's stopped him. I loved seeing the episodes on the big screen. I picked up on details such as the cut throughs in fire flashes body work and the fact Virgil's piano has no foot pedals! I've watched these episodes hundreds of times and never noticed before." Lauren Chilton, Odeon, Taunton

"I went alone, but it was fantastic seeing the Thunderbirds and Fireflash on the big screen, the sounds where great as was the restored sound quality. My only regret is I couldn't get hold of a poster from the cinema. It was excellent." Dan Griffin, Odeon, Peterborough

"I took my 4 year old son, it was his first time seeing Thunderbirds and he was in awe for the whole showing. Looking forward to rewatching more episodes with him." Thomas Garry, Odeon, Liverpool Switch

"I went with my son. I first saw Thunderbirds 60 years ago on a 19 inch black and white TV. The opportunity to see restored episodes on a big screen in colour, in the area I was brought up in, was too good to pass. The episodes looked absolutely fantastic and, although I've seen theses episodes many times, it was like watching them for the first time. There was one little lad who was so engrossed that he clapped when Fireflash was saved. Wonderful stuff." Derek Leftly, Picturehouse, Hackney

"Had a fantastic time. Got to see it with a friend and it was F.A.B.ulous. Seeing Thunderbirds on the big screen was like seeing the 2004 movie again, but different. I give this a full 10/10. Thank you." Scott Anthony Bikliqi, Odeon, Norwich

"International Rescue has always been in my life. My Dad showed me the original as a toddler, I devoured the 2004 film as a kid, and I watched my little brother fall in love with the 2015 series. Catching these classic episodes in cinema was the most exciting (yet cosy) experience; I caught details I'd never spotted before, found myself earnestly tense at points, and couldn't stop smiling." Edward Buckton, Cameo, Edingburgh

"My wife came to watch it with me. I wore my Thunderbirds 60th anniversary t-shirt. Although I may have watched the episodes many times before it was good to watch them on the big screen. Thunderbirds was well ahead of its time, something I have always appreciated in the detail and talent from all involved in making it. The Thunderbirds theme always takes me back to my childhood whenever I hear it." John Driscoll, Odeon, Liverpool Switch

"Took my grandson. The countdown, 5-4-3-2-1, brought tears to my eyes. It was great to see it again, especially on the big screen. My grandson thought it was OK and would watch more episodes. He was impressed with how well it was made considering what technology was available at the time. Now all I need is for the 60th Anniversary boxset to arrive." Chris Marshall, Odeon, Norwich

"People laughed at the silly bits and were fully engaged. My son laughed like a drain! Lovely to see young kids in the audience. The New York episode isn't a highlight episode but an interesting pairing." Julian Bashford, Odeon, Guildford

"I went on my own and not in cosplay. This is probably the first time I have seen these episodes since the showings on BBC 2 in the 1990's. It was magnificent to see them on a cinema screen which took me back to watching Thunderbirds Are Go in the 1960's. I found that over time it is easy to forget just how well made these shows were and that 60 years on they are still exciting stories, well told and stand the test of time. It all brought back fond memories of my childhood and was thoroughly enjoyable." Richard Joyce, Odeon, Warrington

"As this was a special screening, it only seemed right to go the whole hog and enjoy these masterpieces in the luxury comfort of the Odeon Luxe. The showing was filled with people of all different ages. A clear sign how far this show has reached. It's celebrating 60 years, but it's still going strong across all generations. Demonstrating how timeless it is. Thunderbirds on the big screen was an experience like no other. Pristine picture and sound, seeing the craft of the filmmaking on the big screen provided a whole new experience. Details being seen like never before. Showcasing just how much effort went into each and every part of this show. At the end of the screening, the room was in applause. Truly a wonderful way to celebrate 60 years of International Rescue!" Jake Wright, Odeon, Norwich

"My usual cinema. Excellent screening - very clear print. Great to see the episodes on the big screen." Malcolm Dorr, Odeon, Liverpool Switch

"I went on my own, there were some young children in the audience which was great. I enjoyed watching Thunderbirds on the big screen. The picture quality was very good." John Brennan, Picturehouse, West Norwood
