Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons made its television debut in 1967, presenting a dark and sinister science-fiction drama that has captivated audiences ever since. The scenario depicted a world at the mercy of ruthless attacks from vengeful Martian computers with the power to raise the dead. The puppetry techniques behind the series were similarly unprecedented, elevating Gerry Anderson’s ‘Supermarionation’ to new heights of sophistication.
Chris Bentley’s latest Captain Scarlet Vault book is the definitive story of a television classic, told by the people who made the series and illustrated with a wealth of previously unpublished images, including new shots of the original puppets, studio models and vintage merchandise.
While the standard edition features Captain Scarlet’s signature scarlet tunic, a limited run of just 100 special editions are being produced featuring a special Captain Black tunic dust jacket. These collectors copies will also be signed by the author Chris Bentley and are numbered 1-100.
The limited edition versions are available from the Gerry Anderson store and with numbers being so limited they’re expected to sell out very quickly, so make sure you grab your copy before they’re all gone!
