The Metamorph is the opening episode of Space: 1999's second series from 1976 and introduces the shape-shifting Maya, portrayed by Catherine Schell, who joins the crew of Moonbase Alpha following her father's deceptive and catastrophic experiments in rejuvenating their world of Psychon back to life. Maya's father, Mentor, is portrayed by Brian Blessed.
