Attention all sections Manchester! Prepare to clebrate 50 years of Space: 1999 with the fantastic forthcoming event; Manchester: 1999!
This spectacular three-day event at the Holiday Inn Manchester-Oldham features a wide variety of events, guests, displays and much more for fans of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's landmark space-age television series to enjoy. The event features guest appearances from celebrities, directors, actors and more from the universe of Space: 1999 for an out-of-this-world event that champions one of sci-fi's most thematically imaginative and visually ambitious TV series.
The convention's guests include Nick Tate, Anton Phillips, Carolyn Seymour, Christien Anholt, Suzanne Peterson, John Hug and Sandy Byrne. Yasuko Nagazumi and Gianni Garko will both make virtual appearances. Filmmaker Jeffrey Morris will be presenting his two documentaries celebrating one of the mist iconic vehicles in all of science fiction: The Eagle Obsession and Beyond The Eagle Obsession.
Anderson Entertainment will also be attending on the Saturday (12th), with Gerry Anderson's son, Jamie, for a special Q+A session. Fans will also have a chance to experience the colossal Eagle 1976 model playset, which will be on sale during the weekend.
A variety of screen-used props from many of the Andersons' other creations will be on display throughout the weekend, including items from UFO, Joe 90, Terrahawks and more. The popular life-sized Eagle cockpit, which proved at massive hit with fans during its appearance in London: 1999 event in 2024, will also be appearing during the weekend.
