Everything You Need to Know About Our Corgi & Anniversary Edition Thunderbirds Models

Stand by for collectable action! In celebration of Thunderbirds' 60th anniversary, we're releasing a veritable swarm of official ranges of limited edition Thunderbirds models! With the line-up of these releases ever-increasing, let's take a moment to fully explore some key differences between these releases and which one is best for you.

We're producing a pair of brilliantly authentic Thunderbirds model ranges: a range of die-cast collectables co-produced with Corgi and the Anniversary Edition models range. So far, our limited edition variants of Corgi's Thunderbirds 1 & 3, 2 & 4 and FAB 1 have met with huge success with fans. The Corgi line-up continues later this year with a brand new, larger Thunderbird 4 model and a Thunderbird 5 model! Both of these are currently available to pre-order.

The Corgi models are fashioned out of die-cast metal, while the Anniversary Edition models are made out of ABS plastic. The now sold-out limited edition sets of Corgi's Thunderbirds 1 & 3 and Thunderbirds 2 & 4 are new editions of their pre-existing Thunderbirds models, complete with refreshed screen accurate colour schemes and decals. Thunderbird 3 features new tooling to its nosecone to allow docking capability with the forthcoming Thunderbird 5!

The Anniversary Edition models are all brand new toolings of the Thunderbird craft. These are similar in scale to the Corgi models, but are all sold separately and come in premium display packaging with a plastic window for each release. There also won't be an additional larger Thunderbird 4 model from the Anniversary Edition range, like there will be with Corgi's forthcoming larger TB4 model.

Compared to the spring-loaded capabilities of Corgi's TB2, the Anniversary Edition Thunderbird 2 model features detachable legs and a pod, while the Anniversary Edition TB1 features retractable wings. Unlike the decal-heavy style of the Corgi collectables, these Anniversary Edition models are produced with authentic weathered detail.

The Anniversary Edition models of Thunderbird 1 and Thunderbird 2 are currently available to pre-order, along with our ongoing range of Corgi's die-cast collectables. Like the Corgi releases, the Anniversary Edition collectables boast authentic paintjobs and schematic detailing, while still being separate in style to the Corgi models.
