We were sad to hear this week of the passing of Christopher Benjamin, the prolific character actor whose long television and film career included a minor role in The Protectors episode The Quick Brown Fox. He was a familiar face to fans of British television, with notable appearances in The Avengers, Danger Man, The Prisoner, Poldark, Crown Court, Doctor Who, and many more. Our thoughts go out to all who knew him.

Anderson alumni born this week in years past include  Doppelgänger/Journey to the Far Side of the Sun star Ian Hendry (January 13th 1931) and legendary special effects director Derek Meddings (January 15th 1931). Premiering on British television this week in decades gone by were the Fireball XL5 episode The Last of the Zanadus (January 13th 1963), the Thunderbirds episode The Impostors (January 13th 1966) UFO's Mindbender (January 13th 1971) Lavender Castle's The Legend (January 13th 1971) and Flower Power (January 14th 1999), Captain Scarlet's Traitor (January 14th 1968), Space:1999's Ring Around the Moon (January 15th 1976), and Stingray's The Lighthouse Dwellers (January 17th 1965).
