Thunderbirds are go-ing to be making a tour of UK cinemas, to celebrate the show's 60th anniversary! Trapped in the Sky and Terror in New York City, two of the show's most popular episodes, will be screening around the country in brand new 4K restorations! You can read more about the cinema screenings in a new article here, and we have a full list of participating cinemas (with hopefully more to come) here!
These two episodes will also be getting a 4K steelbook release before the end of the year (as will the Space: 1999 series opener Breakaway) - more info on both releases will be announced as soon as we are able!
The final episode of Space Precinct will be going live on our YouTube channel this evening at 6pm UK time! We hope you've enjoyed the series; which episode was your favourite?
Celebrating an August 18th birthday this week was Space: 1999 extra Pam Rose, while August 21st marked the 109th anniversary of the 1916 birthday of Thunderbird 6 voice artist Geoffrey Keen. Popular Anderson episodes to receive their UK television premieres this week in decades gone by include Four Feather Falls' A Cure for Everything (August 18th 1960), The Protectors' The Quick Brown Fox (August 18th 1972), Space: 1999's The Seance Spectre (August 18th 1977), and Space Precinct's Deathwatch (August 19th 1995).
The Gerry Anderson news roundup will be taking a break next weekend, but don't forget that this Sunday at 7pm UK time you're getting a BRAND NEW episode of The Gerry Anderson Podcast with special guest Sophie Aldred! Best known for playing Ace in Doctor Who, Sophie is also a massive Thunderbirds fan - but how will she get along with Stingray? And who will be watching it with her? Find out this Sunday at 7!
