The concert takes place for one night only at Symphony Hall Birmingham on Saturday, July 13th, and tickets are still available for this thrilling event. As we inch closer to the concert’s blast-off, here’s a handy guide explaining what you can expect from the concert!

Gerry Anderson in Concert

Stand By For Action! 2: Tunes of Danger is the follow-up to 2022’s Stand By For Action concert, and promises to be a wonderful celebratory evening of music from the worlds of Gerry Anderson. The concert will take you on an immersive musical journey across Gerry’s exciting science-fiction worlds. A live orchestra accompanied by several talented singers will be performing the much-loved soundtracks from the likes of Stingray, Thunderbirds, Space: 1999, and beyond.

Hosted by Jon Culshaw, the concert in particular celebrates the forthcoming 60th anniversary of Stingray with a special performance of Deadly Concerto. This enthralling adventure is the first instalment in the multi-media arc Stingray: Deadly Uprising, which tells a brand new Stingray saga across novellas, audio releases, and comics. Be sure to book your tickets to experience a night of Gerry Anderson music performed live like never before.

From The Archives

It won’t just be the musical side of all things Anderson we’ll be celebrating! Stand By For Action! 2 will also feature several exhibitions for you to enjoy before the concert itself. Fans will be able to experience a unique curation of classic Gerry Anderson annuals, books, and other merchandise as part of the From The Archives exhibit. This collection comes from Manchester Metropolitan University and is being kindly donated by collector and designer Malcolm Garrett, who will also be attending the event.

Additionally, there will be a display of various Gerry Anderson models from the Movie and TV SIG model making collective, a photo booth for fans to enjoy taking pictures of themselves with, and exclusive Gerry Anderson merchandise being sold on the day itself. These exhibitions and activities will be open from 2 PM at the Symphony Hall on the day itself, with fans able to enjoy an afternoon of Gerry Anderson-themed fun before the concert itself starts.

VIP Goodie Bag

As well as general tickets still being available, fans can also purchase VIP tickets to enjoy exclusive merchandise and more! VIP ticket holders will receive a special Gerry Anderson goodie bag and be able to enjoy a pre-show meet-and-greet with special guests.
