The upcoming Easter weekend is shaping up to offer much for those fans who are able to join us for the Stand by for Action concert in Birmingham UK on Saturday April 16th – Gerry Anderson Day!
The festivities begin on Friday evening at 8pm with a screening of the upcoming documentary film Gerry Anderson: A Life Uncharted at the Electric Cinema, followed by a post-film Q&A with director Ben Field and producer Jamie Anderson. Tickets for this are now sold out, but it may be worth contacting the cinema directly in case of cancellations!
On Saturday April 16th (Gerry Anderson Day!) the celebrations resume at the Electric Cinema with a live recording of the Gerry Anderson Podcast at 2pm! Tickets are now on sale for this 90-minute session with hosts Jamie Anderson and Richard James, plus some special guests and all the usual gubbins you know and (hopefully) enjoy – but are selling out fast! Following that, the Electric will also be screening the 1966 feature film Thunderbirds are Go! at 4.30pm, for which tickets are now also on sale!
Following the screening, the weekend’s celebrations culminate in F.A.B. style with the Stand by for Action: The Music of Gerry Anderson concert at the Birmingham Symphony Hall – for which tickets are also still available!
If you’re able to attend, we hope to see you at any or all of the above events over this very special weekend, celebrating the life and work of Gerry Anderson and the many talented people he worked with!
