Richard Taylor started out by sculpting from clay harvested in the backyard and building model railroads with his father. These humble beginnings were the foundation for one of the most successful special effects careers of all time! He’s a five-time Academy Award winner, a veteran of numerous big-budget productions (such as Lord of the Rings, Narnia, and Blade Runner 2049), and a producer of Thunderbirds Are Go (2015). A puppet maker and a massive Gerry Anderson fan, Richard recalls watching shows like Thunderbirds and Joe 90 on his black and white telly and falling in love both with the stylish Lady Penelope and the incredible design on display. Don’t miss part one of this amazing interview on this week’s edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast – and stay tuned for part two next week!
