Available to pre-order now from our online store are two Space:1999 Eagles from Eaglemoss Hero Collector, who have for many years been producing beautiful die-cast and plastic models based on vehicles from the worlds of Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, The Orville and more – and now they’re launching into the Gerry Anderson universe with a range of Space:1999 Eagles!
Designed by Academy Award-winning SFX director Brian Johnson (Alien, The Empire Strikes Back, 2001: A Space Odyssey), the Eagle is the iconic hero ship of Space:1999, and the primary transport for the crew of Moonbase Alpha. Powered by 4 fusion rockets, the Eagle could reach speeds of 23,700 miles per second, and fly for up to 48 hours. The addition of booster units to its super-structure offered the Eagle One a substantial increase in flight range and power. The Eagle (or “Type A”) could hold 8-12 passengers, plus the pilot and co-pilot, sacrificing space for scientific equipment or weaponry in favour of a passenger pod.
This modular vessel had many alternative configurations, and the collection launches with a choice of two: the standard Eagle transporter, or an Eagle transporter with four vertical booster module units as seen in the second season episode New Adam New Eve.

These officially licensed highly detailed die-cast scale models of the primary vessel of Moonbase Alpha will arrive packaged in a full colour box along with a 16 page authoritative magazine on the classic Eagle and the Space: 1999 series. A cult classic of 70s sci-fi, the TV series Space: 1999 followed the spacefaring adventures of Moonbase Alpha, whose 311 personnel were left stranded when a massive nuclear explosion sent the Moon itself hurtling into deep space.
