Gerry Anderson Day is our annual celebration of the life and legacy of the man responsible for such classics as Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, UFO, Space: 1999 and more – and this year’s event promises to be one of our most exciting ever!
Taking place on April 14th (the anniversary of Gerry’s birth in 1929), Gerry Anderson Day 2024 will have a particular focus on Stingray, his fourth television series to be filmed in the pioneering format of Supermarionation. Stingray itself is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, and we have a plethora of announcements and releases coming soon in celebration of the super-sub’s milestone!
You’ll be able to celebrate Gerry Anderson Day and Stingray‘s 60th in style with the release of our new Gerry Anderson Day T-Shirt. This t-shirt is available for a limited time only, and features the Anderson ‘A’ logo made up of iconic vehicles, logos, and other symbols from the worlds of Anderson, with a special focus on Stingray. The Gerry Anderson Day T-Shirt is currently available at the Gerry Anderson store, and is only available until April 16th.
Over a 60-year career, Gerry’s career blossomed from slow beginnings to a pioneering body of work throughout the 1960s with his Supermarionation TV shows and films. Beyond puppetry, his output grew even more versatile, with celebrated forays into live-action, stop-motion animation, and CGI.
