Stay where you are, Earthmen – it’s time for the Gerry Anderson news roundup!
This week’s edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast launched on Monday, and featured the first part of an interview with Craig Morris of ITVX! If you prefer to stick with traditional audio-only rather than our new and improved video format you can still catch it (and all other previous episodes) every week either through our website or via your podcast platform of choice.
Also new this week over on the Gerry Anderson Randomiser Podcast (also available on all podcast platforms) we travel back to Birmingham for the 200th episode of The Randomiser – and the very first episode of Torchy the Battery Boy!
With Christmas almost upon us, we’ve put together an article featuring our best gift recommendations for the Anderson fan in your life – and if that’s you, be sure to share the list with your friends so that they know what you’re looking for!
Amongst our recommendations were our two new Space:1999 Eagle collectible models, and we’ve now uploaded a video to our YouTube channel showing off the packaging and the certificate of authenticity that comes with each of these lovely models!
A few pre-orderers have already received their copies, but this week saw the official launch day of the Space: 1999 Comic Anthology, containing all the Space: 1999 Look-in strips along with stories and features. You also get a wealth of background articles from comics historian Shaqui Le Vesconte, plus interviews that put the Space: 1999 material in context – have you ordered your copy yet?
Doctor Who celebrated its 60th anniversary on November 23rd, and we’ve compiled an article looking at 5 links – some more obscure than others – between the Anderverse and the Whoniverse!
Our annual Captain Black Friday sale launched yesterday at the Official Gerry Anderson Store, with discounts of up to 70% on more than 70 lines until the end of Monday! To celebrate the occasion, David Munday and Jack Knoll teamed up to host another livestream looking at the year’s best bargains – and if you fancy browsing the collection for yourself, you can find it here!
Posthumous birthdays this week included those of Stingray’s Phones Robert Easton (November 23rd 1930) and The Protectors’ Harry Rule Robert Vaughn (November 22nd 1932), while popular episodes that first aired in the UK this week in years past include Stingray’s An Echo of Danger (November 22nd 1964), Captain Scarlet’s Spectrum Strikes Back (November 24th 1967), Joe 90’s Splashdown (November 24th 1968), Terrahawks‘ The Gun (November 19th 1983) and Thunderbirds’ End of the Road (November 25th 1965.
We’ll be back next weekend with another Gerry Anderson news roundup – but until then, make sure you check out the Captain Black Friday sale!
