The Gerry Anderson news roundup is go – as we celebrate all things Thunderbirds on the 58th anniversary of the very first UK broadcast of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s Supermarionation classic!
This week’s edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast launched on Monday, and featured the first half of an interview with ‘er ladyship, Thunderbirds voice artist Genevieve Gaunt! If you prefer to stick with traditional audio-only rather than our new and improved video format you can still catch it (and all other previous episodes) every week either through our website or via your podcast platform of choice.
Also new this week over on the Gerry Anderson Randomiser Podcast (also available on all podcast platforms) Supercar made a Crash Landing – and one member of the team found true love!

If you’ve been waiting for more audio adventures from the International Rescue team, they’re back in action in this new boxset of four full cast audio dramas based on the classic TV21 and Lady Penelope comic strip stories The Revolution, Mr. Steelman, The Trapped Spy and The Big Freeze – now available to pre-order on CD from the Official Gerry Anderson Store for delivery at the end of November! If you fancy a look behind the scenes of Thunderbirds: Danger and Deception, we also have a special trailer offering just that here!
As if all that wasn’t enough, David Munday, Jack Knoll and AC joined forces to present a Thunderbirds Day livestream at 7pm on Saturday evening – but did the Hood succeed in thwarting the broadcast? Find out by watching it above!
Celebrating a birthday this week was Space Precinct star Simone Bendix (September 26th) while popular episodes that first aired in the UK this week in years past include New Captain Scarlet’s Best of Enemies (September 24th 2005), Space:1999‘s War Games (September 25th 1975), the first episodes of Captain Scarlet (September 29th 1967) and Joe 90 (September 29th 1968), UFO‘s Kill Straker! and The Cat With Ten Lives (both September 30th 1970) – and of course Trapped in the Sky, the very first episode of Thunderbirds on September 30th 1965!
